jasmine lynea is a non-binary femme, queer multi-media futurist, storyteller, and teaching artist who radically dreams beyond the boundaries of our reality. Their work navigates the fluid spaces between truth and myth, offering vibrant, unconventional narratives that envision a loving, queer, and colorful liberating future.

As a 2022 BlackStar Filmmaker Lab fellow, jasmine wrote and directed the fantasy sci-fi short The Love Machine, which premiered at the BlackStar Film Festival. In 2023, their eccentric work earned them fellowships and grants from Mural Arts, the Velocity Fund, Flaherty’s Queer-World Mending program, Independence Public Media Foundation, and Scribe Video. These opportunities have enabled jasmine to craft bold, boundary-pushing stories that imagine what a truly just and equitable world can look like.

Currently, jasmine is a NextFab x Leeway Artist-in-Residence and a recipient of the 2024 Paul Robeson West Philly Creative Arts Grant.
